Edwards, a sense of community and a whole New World of hospitality…
Today, there still exists an area of Edwards known as Brett Ranch that serves as home to cattle, duck and geese, a gentle reminder of our fascinating history.
Residents and visitors find Edwards to be in the "center of it all" providing easy access in and around the Vail Valley. Residents regard the neighborhood feel as a welcome respite from the busy resort settings and visitors find a new world to explore, during their trip to the Vail Valley.
Just minutes from world renowned Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts and charming Arrowhead ski area, Edwards presents an environment consisting of wide-open spaces and natural beauty. Unique shops, restaurants and galleries are sprinkled throughout the growing commercial center. The members of the Edwards Business Association provide virtually every service one would need when living in or visiting the community. With most businesses being locally owned and operated, a welcomed "personalized" level of service is enjoyed.
Edwards is an unincorporated section of Eagle County. A five-member elected Metro Board oversees emergency services, water, administration and legal assistance while Eagle County provides additional services such as infrastructure, police and transportation.
Quality health care is paramount in any community. Edwards Medical Center, a branch of the Vail Valley Medical Center features an emergency walk in facility and brings health care closer to home. The summer of 2001 brought the completion of the Harold W. and Mary Louise Shaw Regional Cancer Center. This magnificent facility eliminates the need for patients to travel hundreds of miles in search of cancer treatment. Now, in our own backyard, residents will find state of the art medical and radiation oncology services.
